Your tree, its fruit, and four staples from the Pahadi kitchen that our own family eats every day. Roughly twelve kilos, packed in one crate.
A specific, numbered tree on our slope at roughly 7,000 ft — not a share, not a symbolic certificate. We fix a wooden nameplate to it carrying whatever you ask us to engrave, photograph it in place, and send you the photograph. From that day the tree is pruned, manured, irrigated and guarded on your behalf until harvest.
Royal and Golden Delicious from your own tree, hand-graded and packed within 24 hours of picking. Never cold-stored, never waxed. The grade metro premium stores retail at ₹350–400 a kilo.
Hand-churned by the traditional bilona method from the milk of Badri cows — Uttarakhand's indigenous hill breed, grazed on open mountain pasture. Grainy, deep gold, and unmistakably nutty. This is the single most expensive thing in the box, and the one people write to us about.
Small, thin-skinned red kidney beans from terraced hill fields. They cook faster than plains rajma and break down into a far creamier gravy — no soaking overnight, no pressure-cooker guesswork.
Finger millet, stone-ground in the village rather than heat-milled, so it keeps its earthy flavour. Naturally gluten-free and rich in calcium and iron — the flour Pahadi households have leaned on through winter for generations.
The Himalayan cousin of sesame. Dry-roasted and ground with salt, garlic and green chilli, bhanjira makes the chutney that accompanies every Pahadi meal. One of the richest plant sources of omega-3 ALA there is — and almost impossible to buy in the plains.
Once a month we walk to your tree and film it — snow on the branches in January, blossom in April, fruit setting in June, your own crate being packed in August. Shot on a phone by the people who tend it, not by an agency.
Twelve kilos is not a cheap parcel to send from a Himalayan village, and we absorb the whole cost. Dispatched with a tracking number on WhatsApp; metros typically in three to four days, remote pin codes in five to six.
We publish our own numbers — including the part that is not goods at all.

That is the adoption itself, and we would rather say so plainly than pad the box to hide it. It pays for twelve months of tending one specific tree on a Himalayan slope — pruning in winter, manure in spring, irrigation through the dry weeks, guarding the fruit from monkeys and hail, the engraved nameplate, and the monthly videos. If you are buying groceries, buy groceries. If you want a tree that is genuinely yours and a family that reports back to you all year, this is what it costs.

The slope turns white and pink for about ten days. We film your tree in bloom and send it to you the same week.
Tiny apples appear
Fruit sets, hard and green and no bigger than a marble. We thin the clusters by hand so the ones that remain grow properly.
Harvest begins
Picking runs July into August, tree by tree as each one ripens. Yours is picked, graded and packed within twenty-four hours.
Your box arrives home
Roughly twelve kilos — apples, ghee, rajma, ragi and bhanjira — with a tracking number on WhatsApp and a note from the orchard inside.
Adoptions close 31 March. After that the trees are already committed for the season.

You do not own the land or the tree in a legal sense — you hold its harvest rights for one subscription cycle, 1 September to 31 August. In practice that means a specific numbered tree carries your nameplate, is tended on your behalf, and its fruit is packed for you. Renew each September and it stays the same tree, year after year. Most of our families do.
The Harvest Box is a fixed set: 9 kg of apples plus the ghee, rajma, ragi and bhanjira listed above. We built it that way because a twelve-kilo crate that carries five different things is more useful to most families than twelve kilos of apples, which would spoil before you finished them. If you want a different mix, message us on WhatsApp well before your box is packed and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible that season.
Adoptions open 1 September and close 31 March. After 31 March every tree is already committed for that season and we stop taking bookings — blossom has set and we know exactly what each tree is carrying. Harvest and delivery happen the following July and August. Adopt early and you get more of the year's videos.
Badri is Uttarakhand's indigenous hill cow. She gives roughly two to three litres a day against the twenty-plus of a crossbred animal, grazes on open mountain pasture rather than feed, and her milk carries A2 beta-casein. Around thirty litres of that milk, hand-churned by the bilona method, yields one kilo of ghee. The price is what the arithmetic produces — we have not marked it up for you.
The Harvest Box does not include a farm stay, so there is no room, no meals and no organised visit attached to it. You are always welcome to message us and arrange to walk up and see your tree if you are in the valley. If you want the stay properly — two nights, all Pahadi meals, snow, bonfire and a village walk — that is The Winter Retreat at ₹20,999, and it runs 1 December to 28 February only.
You pay ₹5,000 now and the balance before harvest. Your tree is assigned and the nameplate goes up as soon as the first instalment clears — you do not wait for the second. We send the balance link on WhatsApp in June, before packing begins. If the second instalment is not paid by the end of June we hold your adoption and the nameplate but cannot dispatch the box, so please tell us if you need more time. There is no interest and no finance charge; this is simply us splitting the invoice, not a loan.
