The complete Royal Hamper delivered to your door in August — and before that, three days in the mountains in the deep of winter.
A clean, warm room in our own home at the edge of the orchard — thick quilts, hot water, and a window that opens onto the slope where your tree stands. This is a family house, not a hotel: you eat with us and the day runs at the valley's pace, not a reception desk's.
Every breakfast, lunch and dinner, cooked by Amma on a wood fire. Mandua roti with bhanjira chutney, rajma from our own terraces, jhangora kheer, and ghee on everything. Vegetarian by default; tell us in advance about any allergy or preference and it is handled.
The orchard under snow, bare branches and absolute quiet. Bonfire evenings with the neighbours, and a walk through Kotgaon — the water mill, the old wooden houses, the temple. Dev walks it with you and tells you what everything is.
A specific numbered tree at roughly 7,000 ft, carrying a wooden nameplate with your engraving. On this package you do not just receive the photograph — you walk up and stand in front of it yourself, in the snow, and that is rather the point.

This is not a summer package with a winter option. The retreat exists because of the snow, and outside those three months we simply do not host it. Your hamper still ships in July–August like every other package; it is the visit that is fixed to winter. Pick your dates with us on WhatsApp after booking — we take a limited number of families each week so the house does not stop being a house.
Nothing is scheduled to the minute. This is roughly how the days go.
Reach Kotgaon by afternoon, tea and something fried by the fire, then the walk up the slope to your tree before the light goes. Dinner with the family. Bonfire outside if the sky is clear.

Breakfast, a last walk if the snow permits, and down the valley by late morning. You leave with photographs of your own tree in winter — and the hamper arrives in August to finish the story.
Travel to and from Kotgaon is not included — the nearest railhead is Dehradun, roughly seven to eight hours by road. We help you arrange a cab and tell you exactly where to turn off.

The adoption itself — twelve months of tending one specific tree, the nameplate, and the monthly videos. The stay above is priced at what two winter nights and nine home-cooked meals for three people honestly cost in this valley; we have not inflated it to make the package look like a bargain. Bringing a fourth person is ₹2,500, which covers their bed and their meals and nothing more.

The slope turns white and pink for about ten days. We film your tree in bloom — and by then you know exactly which one it is.
Tiny apples appear
Fruit sets, hard and green and no bigger than a marble. We thin the clusters by hand so the ones that remain grow properly.
Harvest begins
Picking runs July into August, tree by tree as each one ripens. Yours is picked, graded and packed within twenty-four hours.
Your hamper arrives home
The full Royal Hamper, around thirteen and a half kilos, with a tracking number on WhatsApp — from a place you have now actually been.

The price covers a family of three for three days and two nights — room and every meal. Each additional guest is ₹2,500, which covers their bed and their food for the whole stay. Children under five stay free. Tell us your final headcount on WhatsApp when you pick your dates and we send a top-up link if needed; do not pay extra here.
Between 1 December and 28 February, and only in that window — the retreat exists for the snow. As soon as your payment goes through you land on WhatsApp and we work out dates together. We host a limited number of families each week, so the earlier you book after adopting on 1 September, the more choice you have. Late December and mid-January fill first.
The nearest railhead and airport are both Dehradun, and Kotgaon is roughly seven to eight hours from there by road through Mussoorie and Purola. Travel is not included in the price, but we help you arrange a cab at a fair local rate, send you the exact turn-off, and stay on the phone as you come up the last stretch. In heavy snow the final kilometres are occasionally walked — we tell you honestly before you set out.
No, and we would rather you knew that now. It is a room in our family home at the edge of the orchard: clean, warm, thick quilts, hot water, a proper bathroom — and no room service, no menu, no reception. You eat what Amma cooks, at the time the family eats. Winter nights in the valley get genuinely cold, so bring proper layers. People who want a resort are disappointed; people who want a mountain family's house are not.
We cannot promise snow on specific dates and we will not pretend otherwise — it is a mountain, not a machine. Most families who come between late December and early February see it. If your dates fall dry, everything else still happens: your tree, the orchard, the village walk, the bonfires and the food. If it is a complete washout, talk to us and we will do our best to move your dates within the same winter.
Yes — in full, nothing held back. The complete Royal Hamper, all ten items and roughly 13.5 kg, ships to your home in July–August after harvest exactly as it would if you had bought the hamper on its own. The visit in winter and the crate in summer are two separate halves of the same season. Anything you eat while staying with us is on top of that, not deducted from it.
